Artist Statement:
During the summer of 2008 I have started a campaign to gradually begin to use a palette knife, or a large sponge brush, that is disposable in an effort to develop a looser, more fluid use of the paint. This is especially important during the underpainting phase of the work. ...

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I am not alone in this but I did have a difficult upbringing - I drew as a child to "escape" some neagatives in my life at the time. The negatives persisted and I drew and drew.
If you do something a lot guess what happens! You can develop a significant level of proficiency. |

| Your Personal Biography |
I graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology, with a major in Illustration. I then worked in a series of advertising jobs beginning in Rochester and ending in NYC.I designed
posters for a while and had one sellout called Mend America (which seems timely now). I then got a teaching degree in order to move back home. I am currently enrolled part-time in a Master of Arts program majoring in painting. I am doing this as it was unfinished business and a life goal that was set aside for thirty years. |
