Artist Statement:
My paintings are a celebration
of creation and nature. They
are also reflections of the
human relationship to nature
both physically and
symbolically. My favorite
subjects are trees because
they are both the oldest and
largest organisms on the
earth. They are nature’s
historians. I am fascinated
by their endurance, growth,
size, intricacy and beauty.
In depicting this to an
audience, I often employ sand,
papier-mâché, and even
modeling clay on canvas....
