| Your Personal Biography |
Liz London’s artistic mediums vary from mixed media painting, sculpture, metal to found objects and encaustic.
Born to two artists on the cusp of the rock and roll age and the Rat Pack, through the forces of nature and her transformational path, Liz has come to use her creative energies in a positive way. At one point on her journey she recognized that the artwork she has created in her past has been unconscious process of leading her to a deeper awareness. She realized that her passion for art led her to deep changes and cathartic experiences with a greater elicitation that she could learn and heal through her connections to the essence of the people and nature she paints.
London has chosen to let her artistic direction be part of a life process or journey rather than a destination. Creative expression has become for Liz an interpretation of a multidimensional reality having moved from a deeply personal level of alchemy a gift presented by Spirit reaching beyond the personal. Liz says, “When a person is attracted to a specific painting or artwork, often it is reflection or a part of themselves they often need to reconnect to their Spirit that desires union.”
For Liz, painting is an in the moment and meditative prayer process, believing that all life is creating and every thought is a choice to create and recreate. She believes that becoming conscious is a realization beyond personal experience and to recognize and honor the God in all of life. Technique can be taught, but essence exists. “I have been an artist since birth; studying and living art is all of my life.”
London holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Art and Public Relations. She has studied painting with Dorothy Moses, B.J. White and Carolyn Barnes and sculpture with Mark Briscoe. She was in the process of continuing formal education in Masters in Transpersonal Psychology with a focus in Art Therapy when she became disabled.
Liz feels when an individual observes her paintings, sculptures or art pieces they may receive a message from inside depending upon what they need to see in relationship to where they have been, what they are moving through, or to in their journey through life.
Liz was born in Kansas City, Missouri, spent her childhood in Oklahoma and has studied and worked in California, Massachusetts, and Florida. She has traveled extensively and currently resides in MC Kinney, TX.
