Welcome to Martin Wachter's Portfolio. Browse Wachter's body of work: I believe that conveying character or personality is most important when I paint portraits. I usually paint series of portraits to the point at which I must change gears entirely and usually switch over to printmaking. With intaglio prints I really feel free to be abstract. Silscreen prints usually start off as extensions of photos which intrigue me.
I really want to challenge viewers with the multiple silkscreen prints. If I'm successful, these pieces cause involuntary and possibly mesmerizing eye movement as one is drawn into piecing together the elements of the abstractions.
