Artist Statement:
Art is my life, and I live from art. Since a very early age, I have had the necessity to express myself through painting. I have been painting my entire life because I was born and grew up in a magical place full of beliefs, traditions, and color. My work is the result of this origin. My greatest satisfaction is having the power to transmit feelings through form and color on the canvas, independently of the subject. I have experienced with several techniques, and I use the techniques that I cultivated and nurtured in my lifetime, I enjoy working predominantly with oil on canvas. Mainly I paint the human body sometimes static, sometimes in movement, I also paint animals and others organic shapes enveloped in interplay of colors, faces and masks reflecting the human sense that often stares directly at the viewer. When I'm painting, I paint my emotions en feelings about my daily reality, sometimes mixing them with thoughts that I consider to be part of my conscience and my beliefs.
I think my artwork reflect my own perception and interpretation of the variety of the human experience.
